Old Biker T-Shirts: What You Can Do With Them

When it comes to Christmas gifts for bikers, there is bound to be a few new t-shirts included. I was actually thinking of getting some for myself. But this would lead me to question what I can do with my old biker t-shirts that have now worn out. I could simply throw them in the trash or use them for rags, or I could donate them to the local charity. But it seems like there’s something more I could do to keep them in circulation a little longer.

Here are a few suggestions:

1. Pajamas for the Kids It won’t matter if the artwork has faded a little bit because you can still use the t-shirt. Your old biker t-shirts are great as pajamas for young children if they are 4XLs obviously!

2. Helmet Bags While you may not like attaching your helmet to your bike, you may also find it annoying to have to hold it in your hand for hours on end. However, if you want to have the helmet on your back in a helmet bag, then you could create your own by simply sewing up the sleeves and the neck of one of your old t-shirts. If you’re real creative you can sew a drawstring into the bottom hem and cinch the bag up.

3. Oven Mitts If you are handy with a sewing machine, then you can make oven mitts out of your old t-shirts. Simply cut long strips from the T-shirt, triple-fold one against itself, and stitch it up. It’s a quick and easy way to get a new set of oven mitts without spending extra money.

4. Laundry Bags If you have to do your laundry in a public place you know what a hassle it can be to carry your laundry basket with you. Just like the helmet bag, if you sew up the sleeves and the neck you instantly have a laundry bag. And if you want a clean bag on the way home, then simply throw it in to the machine with the rest of your clothes.

Old biker T-shirts still have plenty of life in them – so be creative. You could surprise yourself with some of your ideas!
